Proofing FAQ

1. Proofing
  • Once your files are checked and your order is processed, you will be emailed a digital proof by the end of the next business day..
  • The order will not go into production until the proof is approved by you. Once you approve your proof, your order cannot be stopped, changed, cancelled or refunded!
  • You can view and approve your proof in your Order History.
  • Please note that colors in a digital proof are not guaranteed to match the finished product.
  • You may make up to 3 revisions for free. Any subsequent revisions will result in a $10 charge per proof.
  • You may receive a proof, even if you did not specifically request one, if we feel it is necessary before starting production. 

2. How to Read Your Proof

Our proofs are not a life like mockup, but they are more of a blueprint of the production of your cards.

Looking at a proof the first time around can seem a bit confusing, but you are always welcome to reach out to us with any questions, or call and request we go over the proof with you to ensure you understand it. 

Below is an example of what a proof can look like:


At the top of the proof will show the colored edge option if that was selected on your order. The next line should show the quantity of your order, including the number of sets. For example, it could show 1x500 or 3x250. 

Beneath that will be an indication of the print on your cards. The number “4” indicates that the side will be printed on in color(4 color process), while a “0” indicates that there is no ink being printed. This will be indicated per each side of the card with a “+” sign. For example, if the print on the front is in color, but the backside of the card is blank, you will see a “4+0” on your proof.

The next set of numbers on your proof will show the sizing of the cards. The proof will most likely not show as true to size on your computer screen, but the dimensions of your cards will be on the proof for your reference.

Finally, the proof will show the card stock that your product will be printed on. This proof shows that the card thickness is 350gsm, which is equivalent to 16pt. Then it has 2 columns of that stock, which indicates that this is a 32pt card.

If you have options on your cards, some will show as a bold color in the sample sections. This color does not print if only in the sample sections. It is only to indicate how those options will line up with your print. 

If you ever have any questions about what is on your proof, feel free to reach out via phone or email, and we will be happy to help. Once a proof is approved, we cannot stop production or change the print or options on your cards.

3. Proof Edits
If your proof is incorrect the first time around, then now worries! When the proof is sent to your account, there will be an option to approve or not approve the proof. 
Approving that proof will send it directly to print and we can not make any changes or edits after the proof has been approved. Proofs can only be approved in your account, and not by an email confirmation.
If you select the “Not Approved” option, then you will have the opportunity to send us a note about what is incorrect, and upload new files if necessary. You can let us know if you would like to use an edited file, text needs to be changed, an option is in the wrong place, or if you would like to change any aspect of the proof order. Any changes can be noted there for a proof again.

If you request to update the proof, changes should usually be made by the next business day, unless there are questions or concerns that arise.
